Viessmann and Germany SailGP Team Unveil New Official Partnership at ENEL Rio Sail Grand Prix Debut

April 15, 2026 – The Viessmann Generations Group (“Viessmann”) and the Germany SailGP Team presented by Deutsche Bank today announced their new partnership.
With the Viessmann brand appearing on the Germany SailGP Team’s race boat for the first time at the ENEL Rio Sail Grand Prix (April 11–12, 2026), the partnership became visible on a global stage in one of the world’s most iconic urban race environments. The event marked SailGP’s debut in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, as the league continues to expand into new regions and global audiences.
Viessmann and the Germany SailGP Team share the ambition to shape high-performance environments where technology, sustainability and measurable impact unite. Both partners build platforms and ecosystems that drive positive change across industries and real-world environments.
Max Viessmann, CEO Viessmann Generations Group: “The Germany SailGP Team, with its unique entrepreneurial spirit and high-performance approach to innovation, is a perfect match. Building on our long-standing engagement in sport, we see our partnership with the Germany SailGP Team as a natural evolution – bringing our brand into a global environment that reflects both our heritage and our ambitions for the future. SailGP combines performance, technology and measurable sustainability in a way that closely aligns with our purpose of co-creating living spheres for generations to come.”
Tim Krieglstein, CEO Germany SailGP Team: “Partnering with Viessmann is a natural fit for our team. We believe high performance and environmental responsibility go hand in hand, and Viessmann shares that commitment. Together, we want to show that success isn’t defined by results alone, but by the positive, lasting impact we create. This partnership highlights the innovation and responsibility driving our team forward for future generations.”
Viessmann joins the Germany SailGP Team as a new Official Partner, with the brand featured prominently in the team’s race environment. This includes visible branding across team assets such as the F50 race boat, team clothing, as well as within the team’s Tech Base — an interactive space that allows guests to engage with the athletes and gain insights into the technical and operational side of the sport.
This makes Viessmann an integral part of the team’s presence throughout the global racing calendar, supporting the team at events worldwide and connecting the brand with SailGP’s global race environments.
The partnership marks a significant milestone in the Germany SailGP Team’s evolution. Driven by a shared commitment to a single objective — blending world-class athletic performance with systemic responsibility — the team is defined by a culture of 'high challenge' and relentless progress. This commitment to continuous optimization is reflected both in technical innovation, such as data-driven performance leaps through advanced software, and in its social impact initiatives. Germany’s SailGP Team is built on the conviction that collective synergy outweighs individual contribution.
SailGP is a global sailing league featuring national teams competing in identical high-performance F50 foiling catamarans, capable of reaching speeds of over 100 km/h. Races take place in iconic venues around the world and are designed as high-visibility live events with global reach. A defining element of SailGP is its purpose-driven approach. Through the Impact League — a second championship, often referred to as the “podium for the planet” — teams are assessed on their environmental and social impact, alongside on-water performance, with independently measured sustainability criteria.

About the Germany SailGP Team presented by Deutsche Bank
The Germany SailGP Team presented by Deutsche Bank was officially introduced in May 2023 by its owners, Thomas Riedel and Sebastian Vettel. Two-time Olympic bronze medalist Erik Heil was signed as the team's driver. Both Thomas Riedel and four-time Formula 1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel take an active advisory role within the team. Sebastian Vettel is drawn to the high-tech parallels between Formula 1 and the premier league of sailing. Furthermore, he is fascinated by the fact that the F50 racing catamarans are powered solely by the wind on the water.
